I have the Transformer 3.0 table and just saw there is a 4.0 table. I reached out to the company to ask what are the differences between the Transformer Table 3.0 and 4.0. Here is a breakdown of the differences: not much!
Transformer Table 3.0 vs 4.0
Unfortunately, I was not given enough information to create a comparison table. Here you can find the general differences between the two tables:
- Additional colors (and the removal of some old colors such as the Mahogany Brown that I own).
- “Table and Chairs feature an enhanced ergonomic design” (whatever that means).
- The connection between panels when extending the table are easier to link.
- The Transformer Table 4.0 can be stored in their new Transformer Coffee Table 4.0.
That is all that was provided.
What is the same between the Transformer Table set 3.0 and 4.0?
There are many similarities between the Transformer Table 3.0 and 4.0
- The panels are the same and can fit in the 3.0 and 4.0.
- The quality and materials used for both the Transformer Table and Chair 4.0 are the same.
Final thoughts
If you read my review on the Transformer Chair 3.0 and the Transformer Table 3.0, you’ll see that maybe you want to skip out on that/or both. Overall, if the 3.0 is not available and you only have the 4.0, get it! But if you’re deciding between the two and there is a massive price difference, I’d stick with the 3.0; there are not significant difference between the two in terms of durability, functionality and look (other than the color).
The only major difference between the two is the matching The Transformer Coffee Table where the 3.0 is not good at all, get the 4.0! And, there are no trade-in programs to get the better coffee table. I was unfortunate to have the 3.0 coffee table. In short, the 3.0 is difficult to take the panels in and out, it is a terrible design.
